What is the chin filler treatment?
After your initial 45 minute consultation with a Facelove healthcare practitioner you may find you require a chin augmentation with dermal filler. Genetics play a huge part in the anatomy of our mandible. A ‘short chin’ creates a feeling of weakness in facial structure. It shows imbalance.
We can easily treat the ‘weak chin’ with dermal fillers. These fillers perform like a chin implant and give the appearance of a normal mandible. The fillers will last 9-18 months depending on which are selected. At Facelove we only use dissolvable dermal fillers. Our French and Swedish manufactured dermal fillers are made from a sugar chain and are easily reversed if there is any problem.

How does the treatment work?
After artistic planning and marking out the treatment, dermal chin fillers are applied to the chin area in a sequence that achieves balance and symmetry. The good news is that the fillers contain anaesthetic for maximum comfort. You can see the results immediately and as discussed all our dermal fillers are actually dissolvable for maximum safety.
What can I expect on the day after treatment?
As with all injection treatments, there may be some redness in the area of injection for an hour or so. Bruising is always a minor risk when having injectable treatments. You can minimize this risk by avoiding alcohol, omega 3 products and anti-inflammatory drugs for 24 hours before your treatment
What can I expect from the treatment overall?
The aim is to achieve balance in the lower third of the face. A feeling that the face is slightly longer and the mandible is sitting further forward is desired. It is important to realize you may need 2ml or more of dermal filler for this indication. At Facelove, we constantly strive for outstanding results.
