What is the treatment?
At Facelove, we use a laser that targets the pigmentation of the ink that is used in tattoos. The ink is broken down by the laser and eliminated by the body.
Tattoo removal takes anywhere from 6-12 treatments. The number required depends on the type of ink used, colour, placement of the tattoo, depth and age. Treatments need to be spaced out 8 weeks apart.

What can I expect on the day of treatment?
After your initial consultation with one of our Facelove practitioners, you will begin your first treatment. Patients can experience some mild discomfort when undergoing this treatment. To minimize discomfort, we apply a topical anesthetic 30 minutes prior to treatment.
What can I expect after the treatment?
After care is very important in regards to tattoo removal. It will essentially be an open wound again, similar to how it was when you first got the tattoo. A waterproof bandage will be applied at the clinic. It is important that this remain on for 3 days. It will be tender to the touch for several days.
After that a topical gel such as medi-quattro should be used twice a day to inhibit infections. After several days the skin will begin to scab over. It is important to not pick at the scabs as this can help introduce infection to the area. The scabs should fall off in a week or so.
