Red old bus going fast on the highway

Why you Need to Wear Sunscreen on a Daily Basis.

Stop it right now! Put down the tanning oil and get out of the sun immediately. This is for your own good.

Unless you have been living under a rock for the last couple of decades, you will almost certainly know how damaging the sun can be for your skin. What is most surprising is you still see many people laying out and baking in the hot summer sun.

I can almost see many of you now shaking your head and saying, “Not me. I don’t tan. Nobody is that silly. Especially without sunscreen.”

It is true that most Australians are exceedingly aware of just how dangerous the sun can be. Everyone is well prepared for a day at the beach with their rashies and 50+ sunscreen.

What most Australians don’t realise is that a day at the beach is not doing nearly as much damage as what is happening on a daily basis. People will slather themselves with 50+ at the beach, but will walk around all day without any protection at all.

You would be surprised how much sun you are exposed to throughout the course of a normal day. One of the most prolonged times that you are exposed to sun is in your car. Driving to and from work or shuttling the kids from one activity to another, you are being bombarded by harmful UV rays.

Not using a sunscreen will allow you to continue to age, this is especially frustrating if you are spending time and money on skin care or anti-ageing treatments such as anti-wrinkle injections or dermal fillers.

Luckily, this is a pretty easy fix. All you have to do is to apply a moisturizer in the morning that has sunscreen in it. The best types of sunscreen are those that provide an actual physical barrier such as zinc oxide. They are the most effective at protecting your skin.

Get out there and enjoy life in the sun. Just make sure that you wear your sunscreen.
