First and foremost, congratulations on the new addition to your family. Whether you are expecting your first or currently nursing your final child, you really are blessed. Although I’m sure that you don’t feel that way when your little bundle of joy is keeping you up at all hours of the night.
Sadly, this does mean that we won’t be seeing you at Facelove for quite some time. As there are many things that are unsuitable for pregnant or breast feeding women, it will probably come as no surprise that many cosmetic treatments are not suitable for you. This includes anti-wrinkle injections, dermal fillers, peels, IPL photorejuvenation and even laser hair removal.
We do have a few tips for pregnant and breast feeding women to help combat the signs of ageing:
1. Protect yourself from the sun. Excess exposure to the sun is one of the main contributing factors to premature ageing. Try to stay out of the sun and with your doctor’s approval, find a sunscreen that will be suitable and safe for you.
2. Check with your doctor if you can use a Niacinamide Serum (Vitamin B). Most doctors are happy for this to be used as a topical skin care during pregnancy. Vitamin B serum helps your skins barrier to retain moisture.
3.Get plenty of rest and try not to stress. Other major contributing factors to premature ageing are diet, environmental factors and stress. You will probably be more focused on your diet and subsequently eating healthier. You can’t smoke or drink alcohol so you are already combatting premature ageing. Make sure that you get plenty of rest and relax a little.
4. Put a little money aside to spoil yourself. Put $5 or $10 away each week so that when you are finally able to have treatments, you can spoil yourself.
From all of us here at Facelove, congratulations!
