The Secret Radio Frequency (RF) Skin Micro-needling

Last year when we attended the Las Vegas Multi-disciplinary Conference, all of the Dermatologists from the USA were raving about the benefits of Radiofrequency (RF) Skin Micro-needling.
We returned to Australia and did our diligent research on the best RF machine we could find.

How do we stimulate your own collagen to grow?

Our skin is very clever. If you wound the skin, it knows the wound has occurred. It knows there is a break in its coverage and so it must fix it.

Have you ever wondered when you cut yourself, how your skin closes the wound? This is collagen genesis. Our skin will repair when wounded and it does this throughout our life.

As you age, your collagen production slows down. How can we boost the skin’s ability to produce collagen? The answer is by gently wounding it in a way that creates maximum collagen production with minimum downtime.

The Secret RF Micro-needling device stamps around 20 tiny needles into the skin after we push the foot pedal. Once the needles hit a programmed depth in the skin, the Radiofrequency heats the deeper skin to create a gentle wound. The benefit of this is that the tiny needles go in cold, heat the deeper skin and come out cold. SO the OUTSIDE skin is minimally damaged whereas the deeper skin is heated (creating the healing response). The result is NEW collagen growth, thicker skin, smoother skin, fewer wrinkles and reduced pores. At 3mm depth the warm needles cause some tissue tightening and firming.

What is the downtime from this treatment?

Swelling – Very little for 24 hours. Most patients experience mild swelling the next day (more describeable as ‘puffiness’)
Redness – Approx 24 hours a pinkish colour easily covered by make up
Dryness – a feeling of dryness for 2 days . Use a heavy moisturiser

Does it hurt?

It is comfortable. We will apply a topical anesthetic cream before your treatment to reduce any discomfort.
