What to Expect From Your Perimenopause or Menopause Consultation
Our menopause and perimenopause consultations are designed to be thorough and collaborative.
- Confidential pre-screening
We review your medical history and current medications to ensure this service is appropriate and safe for you. Due to limited availability, not all patients will be suitable. - Doctor + nurse consultation
You’ll meet with our doctor and nurse together. We discuss your symptoms, concerns, lifestyle, family history and goals in detail. - Assessment & investigations
Where clinically indicated, we may recommend blood tests or other investigations to better understand what is happening in your body. - Personalised treatment plan
Your plan may include lifestyle strategies, at-home care protocols, non-hormonal options and, where appropriate, prescription hormone therapy. We can also discuss aesthetic treatment solutions in your consultation. Skin and hair changes are common in perimenopause and menopause. All prescription decisions are made by the doctor after a private discussion of risks and benefits. - Follow-up and ongoing care

Supporting How You Feel on the Inside and Outside
Many women notice changes in their skin, facial volume and confidence during perimenopause and menopause. As a medical aesthetics clinic, we can also discuss non-surgical options such as skin treatments and cosmetic injectables in separate consultations if appropriate.
Any discussion of prescription-only aesthetic medicines occurs privately with a qualified prescriber, in line with AHPRA and TGA guidelines.

Perimenopause & Menopause Consultations – FAQs
Do I need a referral for a menopause consultation at Facelove Medispa?
No referral is required. However, we will ask detailed questions about your medical history and may request previous test results to ensure this service is appropriate for you.
How long is the perimenopause or menopause consultation?
Please allow approximately [insert duration, e.g. 45–60 minutes] for your initial consultation in St Kilda. This gives us enough time to understand your concerns and discuss options.
Will I definitely be prescribed hormone therapy (HRT)?
Not necessarily. Hormone therapy is one of several options and is only prescribed if clinically appropriate after a thorough assessment and discussion of potential risks and benefits. Some women prefer non-hormonal or lifestyle-focused approaches.
Is this consultation suitable if I’m only in perimenopause, not “fully” menopausal?
Yes. Many women seek help during perimenopause – the transition years before their final period – when symptoms can be most disruptive. Early support can make a significant difference.
I’m already on HRT. Can I still book a consultation?
Yes. We can review your current treatment, discuss how you are feeling and consider whether any adjustments or additional strategies may be helpful.
